dr shades wrote:I don't see why. You only believe you're diabetic based on the mutually-held assumptions of yourself and your doctor. Blood tests like AL1-c yield "data" whose interpretations only hold as much sway as you choose to give them.
Drinking sodas like Mountain Dew, Coca-Cola, etc. and eating delicious foods such as Cold Stone ice cream, Cinnamon rolls from Cinnabon, etc. won't have any negative effect on your body if you refuse to let cultural assumptions have any sway over you.
You see, "facts" about diabetes aren't "facts" at all, they are only illusions to which you have chosen to give power. Should you decide you are not diabetic, that "fact" would become reality to both you and your body.
So, why arbitrarily limit the range of foods and drinks you consume based only on "facts" that aren't facts at all?
cwald wrote:Diabetes is relative. Insulin is relative.
The only reason we have problems with blood sugar levels is because billions of people believe we do. It would only take one or two people to disregard the fact the diabetes exists for it to become not a fact. Kind of like all it takes is one person to disregard the earth is round and claim it it flat, and actually believe it is flat for it to actually be a fact that the earth is flat. People who suffer from diabetes unnecessarily don't understand philosophy and fallacies. It's sad really, that they put their faith in science and the scientific method, which we all know is the cause of most pain. Everything is relative. Facts aren't facts.
