Mittens, As above so below... what makes more sense: 2 men and a son... or A father, a mother and son?
Anciently, the holy ghost/spirit/dove was “Astarte”/Sophia - feminine deity - like a heavenly mother. And FYI, when I pray at church, or around TBMs, to respect their religious dogma, I pray as everyone: “Dear Heavenly Father.” Otherwise, I pray, “Dear Heavenly Father and Mother.” It’s more appropriate and balanced yin/yang.
But I do love the verse in the hymn, “O My Father” about Heavenly Mother.
From a Biblical and Book of Mormon view there was no heavenly mother
From an experiential view, none of us would be here without mothers. “As above, so below.” ;)
Anciently, the Spirit was Sophia or the dove, “Astarte” - Feminine deity. And religions that came before more chauvinist religions, honored both masculine and feminine - yin/yang, etc.
GOD the Father is spirit and invisible and so not, He has no visible material sexual parts. Mormon doctrine seems to need a material GOD ---- even when it comes to "spirit babies".
