I was wondering why no presentation regarding how it is somehow o.k. to hide the money from the members. But E. Kim B. Clark, emeritus GA, former dean of the Harvard Business School, will probably do so, at least obliquely.

Here's an example of a Bishop whose right to be alone with children they are advocating for.
Timothy James Hallows, 62, of Kaysville, pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography in an agreement with federal prosecutors. He admitted to having images of prepubescent children being sexually assaulted by adults on his cellphone and sending them to a woman in the Philippines last November.

Hallows faces up to 20 years in prison. A sentencing hearing has not been scheduled.

Hallows was bishop of the Wellington Ward in the Kaysville Utah Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when he was arrested in October and later charged with eight counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in 2nd District Court in Davis County.

Come on already Mormon Jesus, start inspiring your supposed leaders to not call these pedophiles to leadership. We know you love watching your investments grow and that is a full time job, but, the children, think of the children.

I see that Professor Muhlestein is giving a presentation titled "Egyptian Papers and the Translation of the Book of Abraham: What Careful Applications of the Evidence Can and Cannot Tell Us."

Is Professor Gee's presentation, "By the Numbers," devoted to his recent book or to responding to Cook and Smith?

Mark Ashurst-McGee has been added to the lineup: “Joseph Smith’s ‘New Translation’ of the Bible, His Use of Adam Clarke’s Bible Commentary, and the Question of Plagiarism.”

Is this^ addition to the line up a coincidence?

You have to wonder who is profiting off of this.

Translating the Book of Abraham: The Answer Under Our Heads. Perhaps the presenter will be selling one of those sleep tapes, in the conference foyer, that plays the subliminal message "The Book of Abraham is True". You can listen to it all night long with a tiny pillow speaker beneath your head.

Someone at FAIRMormon must have a sense of humor to place the Helen Mar Kimball’s Polygamy Story and Private Bishop Interviews as Protective Factor: Why LDS Teens Benefit From a Few Moments Alone With Their Bishop back to back.

Conference foyer?!!! This is a totally cyber event. You will be directed to the FAIRMormon website where you can purchase the downloadable version of this subliminal path to a higher understanding.

Dr. Dale did a rehearsal of his FAIR presentation that is already on youtube:

Did you watch it Analytics?

Not sure I can bear it. But if you found a way to sit through it, can you comment on whether Dale has changed any of his arguments in light of the feedback he got from various places, namely from Billy Shears? Namely, Billy showed him how to calculate a Likelihood Ratio, as he didn't know how nor did he understand what an LR really is, and from what was reported, after he saw how some of the results were counter-intuitive, he adopted LR values outside of his pre-packaged range.

Well, he was really getting owned left and right, and so curious if he realized that lies are a little more believable if they're mixed with some truths.

That’s embarrassing to the author and the publishing journal should have had a real statistician look over the methodology and numbers at some point before publication. That is called peer review.

Dr. LOD,

From what I recall, the paper was claimed to be in "peer review" for over a year, and more than one statistician reviewed.

However, in the hundreds if not thousands of comments the childish work generated after publication, no LDS mathematicians or statisticians chimed in to defend it at all. Jeff Lindsey, who always comments on the "science" stuff, just happened not to be around for those two months.

This is yet another devastating blow to Allen Wyatt's credibility as Editor in Chief. Just watch: tomorrow we'll get the de rigueur announcement of "the 575th week of "Interpreter" publishing something" (bonus points if there is another swipe at Bond's more or less correct assessment of the blog site) and there will be no mention whatsoever of Wyatt.

Let's just say that if you watch the first 13 seconds, you'll be able to tell whether or not he's going to double-down.

I thought you were mocking them by adding "9th edition". Who does 9 editions of a paper? Then I checked the FairMormon website and found it IS the 9th edition!! And after 9 editions I'm guessing it's still just a woeful.
