These shows are a great experience, but in making the production values big enough for a stadium that size, the songs take on an operatic sensibility. There are groups like Pink Floyd that actually evolved into stadium bands, with operatic themes and productions.

I always feel that stadiums are not the Stones forté. They're just too grand for the Stones. That is by no means a bad thing. Please don't misunderstand me, I would love the see the Stones live. But some Rock and Roll works better in a small auditorium. If I want to hear Keith Richards play guitar, I want to hear it in a smoke-filled room with peanut shells and spilled beer on the floor. I know that will never happen. The Stones could do 2 shows a night at a 500 seat club until they all died (if they wanted to) and never tap out the demand. Art, demographics and economics sometimes do not pull in the same direction.

So they put on big shows, and they are undeniably great. I am absolutely amazed they didn't stop touring years ago. The fact that they still want to do them, when clearly these guys can all live on their pensions comfortably, is a testimony to the ties that bind that are not monetary.

Mick looks incredible for a guy with a bad ticker.

I just hope they change up the set list like they usually do. If they don't play Beast, I might die.

I have no idea what the sound will be like in a stadium venue. I've only ever heard the Stones indoors.

My My My , Utube is loaded with Stones songs from Chicago this month. Who forgot to tell them to get old and slow? they are not running down. They are loaded and on fire. Burning down the house and then starting a new bridge to run the locomotive on.

I think they love playing together. But, I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was their last large venue tour.

And Ronnie missing part of a lung and Keith's poor fingers. Charlie is just too mellow for words. Always has been.

It's kind of amazing when you think that Keith and Mick have been together for 70 years. Longest marriage for both of them. ;-)
