The down was in free fall when I said it was in free fall.

Is the Trump Train still steaming along in the stock market? Asking for a friend.

A big flat line might mean something to people who started investing right after the tax bill passed, hoping to get a nice ride on the Trump Train. You know, since they've all been losing money over the past 17 months, hows that ride been so far?

There isn't an economist on the planet who doesn't attribute the 600 point drop today to Trump's idiotic Trade war with China.

The DQW is now where it was at the end of 2017.

You meant to say " way higher than it was beforeTrump won the election?"
The Dow soared 257 points and brushed up against lifetime highs on Wednesday, in defiance of those who predicted Trump's election would bring about a plunge in the stock market. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq rose 1.1% apiece.

Is this the plunge you have been hoping that Americans would suffer from while you gloated about some hair fire inducing paranoia?
Or is this significant and/or meaningful to literally anyone other than you?

Hmm. Looks like a sideways shuffle with nervous dips brought on by a man who only had to not “F” the market up to continue enjoying success past the first year.

But, as so many conservatives kept telling us during the Obama years - the markets “hate uncertainty”. So we have a flat return going on over 1.5 years now.

Well you're obviously triggered. What's the matter Subs, the market not doing what you had hoped for? You upset that I'm not stupid enough to put all my eggs in the "Trump Train" basket? You're gloating about a relatively insignificant spike from 30 months ago while ignoring the effective flat line that has happened once Trump got in office and started implementing his economic policies. You know, like his tax cut that screwed blue collar Americans everywhere but guaranteed billions in subsidies to the uber wealthy.

Face it. You've been had. You elected an absolute moron who doesn't understand trade. A man who is lying even to this day about how "China is paying the tariffs" because he's too damned stupid to understand US importers are the ones who pay those tariffs, and like you, he's too damned stupid to understand that all he's doing is taking the American consumers to a tune of $200 billion. Even his own economist had to pretty much admit Trump is lying on this point.

We're talking about a President who knows nothing about trade and started a trade war which hurt American farmers so badly he had to put them on welfare with money he's borrowing from the countries he started the trade war with. So instead of profiting off the sale of American food to China Trump's trade policy has the United States paying interest to China while US farmers become dependent on the government because they aren't selling food to China.

You just can't make this crap up. It means you and your "Conservative" ilk no longer get to mock anyone on the left on matters of economics.

subs actually has all of his retirement dollars sunk into R22 Freon futures and incandescent light bulb stocks, as part of his “Evil Libruls aren’t the Boss of Me!!1!” investment strategy.

Who knows, the way that Trump approaches environmentalism, maybe that will work for him.

Don’t forget, we’ll need to borrow even more money now from the Chinese to cut the monthly aid checks to distressed farmers for killing their overseas market share.

I've mentioned before, but it's worth bringing up again that the worst long-term fallout from the trade war has already happened. That being, the trading partners who moved away from US goods are establishing new trade networks that will be difficult if not impossible to entice them out of and back to US markets at pre-trade war scales. This has done lasting damage to the US economy and our trade relationships that won't be undone by negotiating a deal or going back to pre-tariff conditions.

If Trump's aim is to destroy both American democracy and its scientific, technological and economic dominance in the world (which I increasingly suspect is the case), Trump is winning too.
No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.
