The MG Grindael Chronicles

In the interest of having a common base of fact from which to work, I'm going to go through the interactions between MG and Grindael post by post. I figure if we have enough bandwidth to go verse by verse through the Bible, we have enough bandwidth for a list of facts relevant to whether someone's board access should be restricted or revoked.

To avoid cherry picking and confirmation bias as much as humanly possible, I'm going to look at all threads in which Grindael posted and look for interactions between MG and him. I'll do that by searching for Grindael as author of posts. For each hit I find, I'll look for a post by MG. I'll report whether MG posted in the thread. If he did, I'll report whether the two interacted with each other. If they did, I'll post the contents. The listed date is the date of Grindael's first post in the thread. I've noted "substance" where Grindael did not start the thread, but he posted substantially on historical/doctrinal subjects

The question I'm hoping to answer, or at least to shed some factual light on, is the extent to which MG derailed threads or posts by Grindael.

In your survey, you should note that Mentalgymnast took a break and did not post on this Board from November 21, 2011 to June 2, 2013, inclusive, which would explain why you found no MG posts in most of your first set of searches. See page 310 of the search of his posts.

Given the dates, I'm not sure how you concluded this:

I checked your link and did not find a mentalgymnast post on that page, however, note that the signature line in grindael's post contains this [see below], which might explain your false positive if you were just checking the page for "MG":

"I will not in any way, shape, or form have anything to do with or have anything to say to [grindael] from here on out. Directly OR INDIRECTLY" ~MG, 10-25-17, 12:36PM The SAME DAY, an hour later... "I decided that I needed to also create a publicly posted thread, as he did..." FIRST indirect comment. So much for his "DMZ".

His current sig line is of course retroactive to all posts, so it's not clesar why you might have gotten a false positive in the above, but not also on every other grindael post. In any case, during the time frame of all but two of the thread dates in your OP, mentalgymnast was not posting on the Board.

Hi Lemmie. Thanks for the reminder about the gap. I'll definitely add it. After I read your post I remembered that you'd posted about that gap before. I wish I'd remembered last night. Anyway, thanks for saving me time -- I'll jump ahead to the end of the gap.

The date in each entry is the date of Grindael's first post in the thread. "Yes MG" means that MG posted somewhere in the thread, not on the same page. This thread was revived later, and MG posted on it here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=35848&start=273#p757860

Sorry for the confusion.

ETA: I'm not confident that I can devise a search string that will give me all the threads in which both Grindael and MG posted, so I'm reading through all the threads that Grindael posted in.
