So...(she never shuts up and she knows it)...

1. You had a good plan with some pretty sound boundaries there. The friend needs to go, etc.
2. The friend is already making her exit, so that looks pretty promising.
3. Had a nice evening as a family.
4. The Bishop opens his mouth (sorry I have no respect for this guy from the get go) and says you can't "cohabitate".
5. For some reason, now she's pissed off at you.

So...does this make you think that she's going to revert no matter what you do?

If so, what can you do now?

I'm not asking because I'm nosy. I'm trying to see what the solutions are based only on the information I have here.

Which is never going to be the full picture and I know it.

If you want to bag this conversation, just say so. Maybe you need time to reflect.

Ya, both Bishops agreed it's the policy of the church.
They are going on the Church handbook of instructions, which says to be baptised you can't be "cohabitating" with anyone under the same roof.

No, she got mad because when I heard they both had said the same to us both, I went and sat down and cried some, then I asked her to come talk so we could discuse this new issue, options, etc., and instead of doing that, when I stated addressing some of the issues with it, she then started to berate me as being a loser, etc., then she went racist being critical of "Americans" who are lazy, on welfare etc. The irony is I'm on the side that can agree with some of that, yet she was using it in a bigoted way, and she compared me with them. I tried to explain that it's different, because my desires are to be successful, it is only a hurt heart that has caused my issues, and then she belittles me for it, thus disabling me. If she had showed basic decency and caring, not long after the divorce I would have went to graduate school, then when they came back to the states I would be almost done, and would have finally gotten into a proper career. It was the same in the marriage, it wasn't just her treatment that stop and caused many things, it was the treatment beyond the initial mistreatment. I could take being mistreated and I did deal with it eventually, but it was her other actions and coldness that made me into the very thing she hated most, while I only needed the rare hug and kind word, and her to be home at a reasonable hour at least half the nights, that's it (oh, and us to live within our means). I would have been fully on the ball had that occured. Yet, when I tried to talk to her about this new change/problem, she reverted to her old judgmentalism. The irony is I wasn't even giving up yet, and wasn't planning on it. I was just wanting to go over things and plan our next step. But, because I was addressing a problem, she took it as me throwing in the towel, giving up.

If there is ever an issue with anything that has to be addressed, fixed, etc., then often yes.

Anyway, donkey..... Now to figure out what to do next.

Scientology is still really young. They are only on their second supreme leader. Lets wait for Miscavige to die, and see what the next guy has to offer. Maybe they will start a massive mainstreaming effort. I don't think it's fair to compare a "religion" that is only 65 years old to one that is 188 years old. A fairer comparison would be to compare 2018 scientology to 1895 Mormonism. How does pre-second manifesto Mormonism compare to modern scientology on the cult scale?

It's true. Mormonism is not as bad as Scientology.

But that's like saying diabetes is not as bad as cancer. One is worse, but neither is fun.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.
