I have been thinking about this issue recently. Some individuals do have a lot of bad things happen to them and yet manage to thrive.I am think of the composer J S Bach who lost his parents at a young age was bullied at school and yet become a musician that other musicians relied on like Mozart. Bach lost his first wife at childbirth and married again. He lost a number of his children. British psychiatrist Anthony Storr in solitude argues that many creative writers used creativity to overcome depression they suffered often from the loss of parents at a young age.

Today there was an entertainer in the UK who was from Australia doing well and conducted the Queens jubilee celebrations. Then we find out he had been molesting young girls and is now in jail. Anthony Weiner sh*t in his nest by doing some stupid texting and losing his wife and now is doing jail time. What is the main thing they joke about Bill Clinton? As recent as last Friday it was a joke on Bill Mayer. I always liked Bill Cosby show with my daughters. Now that one does not see his show now must mean the others in the "family" might not benefit financially. Cosby's behavior is I suppose an instance of him sh*tting in his nest.

Either or or both.....

I think everyone has a breaking point, and a "particular" set of things that will break them, while another set of things don't. Bach for example while he lost his parents fairly young, still lived with is brother and was active in the Music of the Lutheran church as well as having various Uncles who were professionals in music, thus having various avenues of support, structure, and something to do. Further, before his parents died he was apparently taught much that would form a foundation for his entire life, be it character and music skills.

Then you have the effects of thought, which can take you a long way, but if enough factors combine, there are limits. Take me, all the various things I experienced in life, I grew to be far more and was preparing to accomplish so much, but ultimately a bad marriage broke me, though primarily physically because the physical prevented the mental strength and accomplishment that was there already.

All of this comes back to there being sin in the world. When man gives into sin, it has a ripple effect in the world, either on some mass scale or on ones own family. Suffering and lack of accomplishment is entirely due to sin, the sin of others or ones own sins. Sin comes in many forms, it's not simply the big acts, but the small ones, and ones thoughts.
