1. It says Right of the PEOPLE, not Militia, not State Government.

2. Militia statement is a "Justification Clause" not an "Operative" one (for you people who think you know English so much better).
The Operative Clause is in relation to the People, to keep and bear arms. (in other words, all the laws that restrict ability to carry, are illegal)

3. Militia in the 1700's meant ALL people (white males in that time), specifically those between 18-45 would form an organized militia when needed.

4. "Free State" in those times did not refer to "a state" as a term, it referred to "The State" aka the Country, or a "Free Country" free of despotism.

5. Just like limitations on Speech, there should be no limitations on gun ownership, save in the most severe ways.
Note how Leftists are in fact tyrants, because they even work and limit free speech beyond it's intended limits, to say for example in Canada right now you have Law being proposed that you can't "be critical of Islam". Leftists do the same with guns, but even often more worse because in many so-called "civilized/free" Western country's gun ownership and carry is totally or near totally banned. Other's already have anti-free speech laws....

It is only Leftists who infringe on basic human rights, not conservatives.... by their fruits ye shall know them.

Should a registered sex offender own a gun?

Should a violent felon own a gun?

Should a domestic abuser own a gun?

Should a suicidal person own a gun?

Is there no limit to who should own a gun and the means in which they can acquire it?

Only a moron who studies NOTHING makes this kind of argument.
Why? Because if they did study Law they would know very well that "Rights" are based in LAWFULNESS, that the Constitution and Bill of Rights are based in "Law Abiding" and moral behaviors and persons.
Thus, the same rights "don't" apply to criminals, etc. having every legal precedence to have exceptions thereto, because after all, being a criminal you lose rights.

Lord you people are stupid.

But, to specifically answer you....

1. If they've served their time (which should be a LONG TIME), and after a considerable Probation, they should have every right of a Citizen returned.
2. Same as above....
3. Same as above....
4. Why not? Self harm is ones own personal choice, and occurs many ways, you can't "ban" everything.
5. Of course there can be certain limits per the Law as above... And as to the "means" for acquiring, of course there can be "basic" limits that don't infringe on ones ability to get the gun and to carry it. Problem is, Leftists have taken those limits and made them "infringing", on the Poor, on Women, on anyone to even get permits, etc.

Did you forget the story I posted about the woman who's boyfriend or whatever killed her, she had applied to get a permit, and she was having to wait months etc.
That's INFRINGEMENT PERIOD... against a persons Human Rights as well as Constitutional Rights.

And here we find faqs espousing one of the most extreme cases of gun promotion out there. A good portion of gun owners aren't even in favor of arming violent felons and domestic abusers (this poster included), yet this cat thinks murders should be given guns... "wow" is about all one can say.
