Apologists as Decepticons

Not all robots are bad. Most are good except for those Decepticons who give the rest a bad name by continually lying. These Decepticons even have a phrase for this deceptive behavior: "Lying for Bender". It's not like Bender asked them to lie unless it was securing him some cigars or whiskey - which are very untypical robot vices. So knock off bad mouthing robots, it is the Decepticons who deserve your attention.

Wonder if you are overthinking this problem. If apologists were to inadvertently tell a falsehood, wouldn't they inform us immediately? You make it sound like they would dig in their robotic heels and set up a defensive perimeter.
