I did consider it.

In fact, I hiked Mt. Olympus to the summit this last Sunday and as I was pondering these things, it began to snow on my wife and I. Coincidence? I think not. Barbara Snow. Mr. Olympus snow. Both were extremely treacherous and, as it did with Ms. Snow, it took considerable skill to navigate the 'snow storm' as it were.

Desolation Trail or the steps up from Wasatch Boulevard? The first is a nice walk. The second is hell for the unfit.

Just wondered if there are any updates on this? Is it still going or have charges been dropped?

I don’t know - but it seems that the church mixes its corruption with government so justice is doubtful.

Miles charges were mysteriously dismissed despite Bill Cartensen admitting to being one of the perpetrator along with Brenda Miles (Nelson’s daughter), who was “mostly the cheerleeder and took the videos” during the sexual abuse “parties.” (p. 15 & 20)

To be clear, President Nelson might be deposed. It sounds like they've asked, but no decision has been made.

I can only imagine how the deposition would go. If there wasn't any actual crime, can there be a coverup?

Yeah, in the normal course, the parties negotiate a joint discovery plan. Once the plan is entered, either party can request additional depositions from the court. In this case, the parties aren't at the discovery plan stage. It's not unusual to see a motion to take early discovery of a witnesses in failing health to preserve the testimony for trial. It's discretionary with the judge. But I suspect the judge will want something other than "dude's old."

And the dep would look like every other dep of the representative of an institutional defendant that denies a claim. The statements of the children are evidence of crimes, and Nelson would be questioned about what he heard them say, what he was told they said, and his knowledge of any institutional response or actions taken by the church.
