Mormon Mixed Messages - Bednar versus Nelson

Post by _I have a question »

Flood the Earth through Social Media...

Messages and pictures that used to require days, weeks, and months to send and receive now can be communicated around the world in seconds. We thank Thee, O God, for the prophets who have taught and prepared us for the time in which we live—and who have urged us to use technological advancements to support the ongoing mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.5

The Lord is hastening His work, and it is no coincidence that these powerful communication innovations and inventions are occurring in the dispensation of the fulness of times. Social media channels are global tools that can personally and positively impact large numbers of individuals and families. And I believe the time has come for us as disciples of Christ to use these inspired tools appropriately and more effectively to testify of God the Eternal Father, His plan of happiness for His children, and His Son, Jesus Christ, as the Savior of the world; to proclaim the reality of the Restoration of the gospel in the latter days; and to accomplish the Lord’s work.

It’s worth noting that Social Media evangelist Bednar is a very irregular and sporadic Tweeter.

President Nelson challenged young church members to set five goals in their lives — No. 1, take a break from social media.

“Choose seven consecutive days and go for it. See if you notice any difference in how you feel and what you think, and even how you think, during those seven days,” he said.

I’m guessing regular Tweeter Russ Nelson will be picking 7 consecutive days to halt his Personal Twitter feed?

Will the official Church Twitter take a 7 consecutive day break from its prolific posting?

We simply invent new reasons, new justifications, new explanations. Sometimes we ignore the evidence altogether.” (Mathew Syed 'Black Box Thinking')

Oh hey. “Hastening the work” makes a return, after a long absence (after being used profusely for a few years). If I never heard that phrase again, it would have been too soon.

Bednar won't set an example for the youth. He's addicted to his social media. I wonder what else he's addicted to? I wonder how many women he's flirted with during his lustrous career? I wonder how many girls he took advantage of?

You can bet, he's dirty. I'll bet he looks at porn and justified himself with the need to know.

I feel sorry for his wife. She always seems shell-shocked when she is out in public.

No doubt she knows full well what a dirty little flirt her self-righteous husband is. Women know when their husbands flirt with other women.

Bad Bednar!
