Through the Greek writings, the claim that they really did come from ancient ancestors from Crete is being confirmed. The Nephites claims of coming from the Jews, not so much... there appears to be quite good scientific evidence for the historic reality of where the Greeks came from, the Nephites? eh..........

If the University of Athens was like BYU, they would have many instances of the mating habits of swans on file to prove that if not under a divine influence (such as being a deity in disguise or being commanded by a duck with a drawn sword) swans are not sexually aggressive toward unrelated species.

Perhaps, but even so a lack of labyrinths and minotaurs in the archaeological record leaves the existence of a historical Crete vulnerable to Bayesian analysis.
